The Week in Womble aka its just the books this week

Helloooooo!

Still a busy week and at least another one to go as we near launch day for the current project. Not really much to talk about to be honest between that and national lockdown! When the highlight of the week is a trip to the supermarket I sense boredom for my readers.

Things I listened to

Erm not had much time next week back to a broader mix of podcasts

What I’ve Been Watching

Wandavision – Episode 7 – well that’s all I can say….welllllll

Queen’s Gambit – Finished and I was so impressed how they study someone with immense talent and yet a talent for self-destruction who needs friends to pull them through. Stylish, tense, and I liked a drama that had a female lead who in the end doesn’t need a man to complete their life

Subjective Chaos Awaits

We are back!!! A new panel of judges and a slightly different approach to allow us to not get avalanched this time (in theory) – I think this should be fun!

Here we announce the new panel - HERE

What Have I been Reading and Reviewing?

Spec Ops Z by Gavin G Smith – Fantastic 1980s set zombie tale which captures the spirit of a Romero tale

Just Add Water by John Dodd - a puzzle box of an sf tale as an engineer tries to save a world from her own ship’s war of destruction

John's Eyes by Joanna Corrance – a black mirror style tale told from the perspective of cybernetic implants – very well delivered

The Searching Dead by Ramsey Campbell - A nostalgic trip to Liverpool but with added demonic forces

These Lifeless Things by Premee Mohamed – An amazing tale of survival and history that is probably the best thing I’ve read so far this year

The Swimmers by Marian Womack – absolutely fascinating tale of an ecological dystopia (review Tuesday)

The Children God Forgot by Graham Masterton – I wish that I can forget this terrible novel that was a DNF

What am I Going to Read?

In the near future galaxies, puzzles plus alternate Londons!

And so much more!! Good luck for the future – we will get there. See you in a week!
