BookTempting Challenge - Update 1 - My First Three Choices

I have to admit my reading speed the last few weeks have been weird. I never knew I would miss my train commute as that was guarantee reading time. Work is a bit manic for very good and sad reasons; so it’s taken a while to just be able to sink into a book. I've instead tidied the house; started to alphabetise the books and dvds and zoned out a lot. Happily, I’m starting to find my way through this; and I thought it would be good to talk about the first few books I’ve picked for the Book Tempters TBR Book Challenge!

Please note it’s for twelve weeks and you can do it any order you want – this is for fun the full list of challenges is here - https://www.runalongtheshelves.net/blog/2020/3/19/the-book-tempters-tbr-book-challenge

Book 1 – The Chunky Boi

So happily I have a blog tour on this in April when it comes out in paperback. Its Legacy of Ash by Matthew Ward. My copy is 768 pages and its been a difficult book to carry on the commute but NOW I HAVE THE TIME. Making a big start on this shortly over the weekend

Book 5 – The Collector

I have a wonderful collection in the form of Cursed edited by the great Marie O’Regan and Paul Kane with stories from authors such as Neil Gaiman, Charlie Jane Anders and M R Carey amongst others. Perfect for little breaks between Video conference calls (definitely not while watching some powerpoint demos – no siree)

Book 12 – Treat Yourself

Well I happily believe that in the Broken Earth trilogy N K Jemisin wrote the best series of the 2010s. I am so ready for their next novel and happily The City We Became is now here.
